In recent decades, the approach to beer consumption in Ukraine (as in many other countries) has changed significantly. In the past, the overwhelming majority of consumers believed that beer should be golden, clear, mildly bitter, and with a thick foam. Naturally, most large industrial breweries have tailored their products to appeal to the broadest possible audience.
The “quantity over quality” mindset and profit-driven focus push producers to minimize production costs — resulting in the fact that most mass-market beer varieties taste very similar. The brewing process is highly optimized and accelerated, using simple recipes with minimal and inexpensive ingredients. These are the key principles followed by most major breweries.
It’s a completely different story with small breweries. Most of them prioritize high quality and excellent flavor. Craft breweries focus on producing premium beer and try to diversify their selection as much as possible. You can see for yourself the outstanding quality of craft beer by tasting the products of the Hutsul brewery “Tsypa”, located in the village of Kvasy — just 30 kilometers from our Chillax guesthouse.

In addition to excellent traditional beers (like lager, pilsner, and others), you can try “Tsypa Plombir”, “Tsypa on Milk”, “Kvassne with Cucumbers”, “Kvassne on Cabbage”, and many more — each offering a unique and unforgettable taste. It’s entirely possible that after tasting beer from the Hutsul craft brewery “Tsypa”, you may never want to drink mass-produced beer again!

“Tsypa” Brewery invites everyone to a guided tour held every Wednesday at 5:00 PM (by prior reservation). During the tour, you’ll get to explore the entire production process, learn about the specifics of craft brewing, and taste five different beer styles along with some delicious snacks. If you enjoy the tasting, you can continue your experience at the Tsypa Brewhouse store, where you can sample up to 28 different beers currently available, buy branded cheeses, and pick up some souvenirs!
