Prut Waterfall is located in the south of the Nadvirna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, east of the highest mountain peak of Ukraine, Hoverla. The source of its waters is the Prut River, which explains the name of this waterfall – Prut. However, it also has another, unofficial name – Hoverla Waterfall, which is associated with its proximity to Mount Hoverla.
Prutskyi (Hoverlianskyi) Waterfall is the largest in Ukraine. It consists of 6 cascades, the height of the largest of which is 12 meters, and the total height of the water fall is more than 80 meters. This giant waterfall makes an unforgettable impression, and you can enjoy the view of the rapidly falling water for hours! A real miracle of nature!
Near the Prut Waterfall, at different levels, there are many places from where you can take unique pictures that will decorate your pages on social networks! Here you can also have a good rest and relax at the foot of Mount Hoverla. And if you come here in the right season, then you can enjoy plenty of lingonberries and blueberries.
By the way, visiting the Prut Waterfall can be combined with climbing Mount Hoverla. In any case, you need to get to the Zaroslyak tourist base (the distance from our Chillax hotel to it is about 30 kilometers). Then choose one of two options.
The first option. From the tourist base, follow the route as to Hoverla. At the same time, follow the stream that flows to the left of the trail. You will reach the point where the blue markings indicating the way to Hoverla will reflect a turn to the right – you do not need to turn there. Continue (the landmark is a large stone) along the path along the stream, pass through the forest and the clearing behind it, and soon you will see the Prut waterfall. When returning, also follow the stream – and then you will definitely not get lost.
The second option is for those who have already been to Hoverla and are going down to the camp site. You need to follow the blue markers. The key landmark is the last marked pillar before Mount Hoverla. Not far from this pillar you will see a well-trodden path leading to the right of the route. Turn onto this path – and it will lead you to a rapid stream, which then turns into a waterfall. Go further – and soon all 6 cascades of the Prut Waterfall will appear before your eyes! All you have to do is admire their grandeur and beauty! There is no such unique spectacle anywhere in the world!
