Narinetskyi waterfall is located in Ivano-Frankivsk region, on the border of the villages of Tatariv and Mykulychyn, in the picturesque mountain range of Gorgany. It originates from the Noretskyi stream, a tributary of the Zhenets River, which belongs to the Danube basin. The name “Narinetskyi” probably comes from the distorted hydronym “Noretskyi”. The waterfall was formed in a place where the stream crosses massive sandstone layers, and therefore looks especially harmonious among mountain ranges and pristine forest.
The height of the water fall is about ten meters, the waterfall is single-cascade. Although there are many higher and more famous waterfalls in the Carpathians, this one has its own unique color and charm. It is worth visiting to feel the atmosphere of wild nature and take beautiful photos, because every angle here looks special. At different times of the year, the Narinetskyi waterfall opens up differently: in spring it is especially full of water, in summer it gives coolness among the greenery, in autumn it amazes with the bright colors of the surrounding forest, and in winter it turns into an icy fairy tale.
Interestingly, not far away, about two kilometers away, is the famous Zhenetskyi Guk. Therefore, in one hike you can see two unique waterfalls at once. From the Chillax guest house, the road to Narinetskyi is about twenty kilometers. A significant part of this journey can be covered by car: get to Tatariv, and then along the highway towards Mykulychyn. Then you need to walk, following the signs to the Zhenets Waterfall. Near the bridge, in front of the shepherds’ hut, you should turn right into the valley of the Norets Stream and walk about half a kilometer along the forest path.
The route is not difficult and is even suitable for families with children. However, it is worth taking care of comfortable shoes, as the trail can be slippery after rain, and also taking drinking water and something to eat with you.
Narinetskyi Waterfall is a picturesque corner of the Carpathians, which gives peace and at the same time amazes with its natural power. Visiting here means discovering another pearl of the mountains, which will certainly be remembered for a long time.
